God's Resources for Our Daily Living

In Romans chapter 8 and verses 35-39, we are given wonderful insight as to who we are in Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul asks, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

The Scripture teaches that those who know Jesus and are indwelt by His Holy Spirit have the resources to live life in a way that is pleasing to Him through whatever situation or circumstance life may throw at us!

These resources are the Holy Spirit, God's Word and Prayer. Over the next few weeks we will look at these resources in more detail. May we learn that our Lord does not expect His people to live on an emotional roller coaster ride that derails when the storms of life assail us; but that in ALL things we are "MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH HIM THAT LOVED US" and gave himself for us. This gives us great hope!

I'm encouraged by our text that Paul goes on to say, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Next week we will look at the resource of God's Word.
